This November Panthera Photo Safaris had our last set date safari for 2023…Elephant Plains in the Sabi Sands. This safari is always a spectacular one and one of the best entry level safaris for photographers in South Africa. The energy was electric, and the icing on the cake was spotting Tiyani’s tiny cub, a real heart-melter that made our safari totally unforgettable. Sabi Sands is basically the VIP section for game viewing in South Africa, and our time at Elephant Plains Bush Lodge proved why. We got up close and personal with six different leopards, capturing the mysterious and cool side of these wild cats. One of the craziest moments was on the very first drive when we stumbled upon a pack of 17 wild dogs who had unfortunately attracted a following of around 30 hyenas. Elephant Plains Bush Lodge isn’t just a cool place to crash; it’s like a front-row seat to nature’s blockbuster. The guides and trackers know their stuff, making every game drive a mix of excitement and wonder. We visited the local hyena den on a number of occasions and were treated to some very your pups.
